See Why We're #1 for Tortuga Island Tours in Costa Rica

Yes, shared catamarans cross the Gulf of Nicoya to Tortuga Island from Los Sueños Marina near Jacó, on a half-day snorkel and sunset cruise or an all-inclusive full-day trip. Shared Tortuga Island cruises start at $159 per person. Both include snorkel gear, drinks and a stop on the island.

Yes, private catamarans and yachts carry just your group from Los Sueños to Tortuga Island. The Private Catamaran to Tortuga Island, Jaco follows the full-day plan, from breakfast on board to snorkeling and the island hike, with no strangers on deck. Smaller groups can choose the 36 ft Classic Hinckley Yacht Los Sueños – Tortuga Island.

The Tortuga Island Catamaran Day Trip from Jaco, All Inclusive covers breakfast, a buffet lunch on the island, drinks all day, snorkeling, a banana boat ride, the nature hike and a beach chair with umbrella. Transport from Jacó, Herradura and Los Sueños is included, and a bilingual guide joins every departure.

The ride is short: Los Sueños is the closest marina to Tortuga Island, so you spend less time crossing than on boats from Puntarenas. Catamarans head across the Gulf of Nicoya from Herradura Bay, and on the Tortuga Snorkel & Sunset Cruise from Jaco - Half Day, you check in at midday and cross back at sunset.

Yes, private fishing charters run out of Los Sueños Marina. Private boats here start at $1,099 for the whole boat, up to 4 guests. The Inshore Roosterfish Charter from Los Suenos targets roosterfish along the rocks, and the Sportfishing Charter from Los Suenos Marina also runs offshore for billfish. Buy your fishing license before the trip.

Yes, Tortuga Island day trips from Los Sueños include time on its white-sand beach. On the full-day catamarans, chairs and umbrellas are set up before you land, and you can snorkel or walk the nature trail looking for monkeys and iguanas. The afternoon snorkel and sunset cruise keeps the beach time and snorkeling but skips the hike.
