About This Tour
Six in the morning. The lagoon is glass. The sky is the color of a peach. You're already onboard a private 30-foot catamaran with a hot coffee in your hand, the captain trimming the sail, and not a single other boat anywhere in sight.
There's a brief window every morning — about ninety minutes — when the Lagoon of Seven Colors looks like something from another planet. The water is dead-flat. The light is pink, then gold. The herons are fishing. There's no engine noise from anywhere in the lagoon. The day-tour boats don't start until eight or nine.
This three-hour private sunrise sail puts you on the lagoon during exactly that window. Your private 30-foot sailing catamaran departs at 6 AM with hot coffee already brewed onboard. Your bilingual captain casts off and points the bow toward Isla de los Cocos — a small protected island where the early light is best.
Onboard you'll find homemade cookies, fresh toast with butter and jam, mixed seasonal fruits, natural juices, hot coffee, and water. Sail through the Pirate Channel as the sun fully clears the horizon. Swim before any other boat is on the water. Then sail back, refreshed, the day still ahead of you.
Best for: photographers, couples, light sleepers, early-bird travelers, anyone tired of crowds, anyone who's done the standard Bacalar tour and wants something different.
The catamaran fits up to 14 guests but works just as beautifully for a couple. Sail-powered, calm, magical.
