About This Tour

The catamarans leaving Puntarenas need about an hour and a half to reach Tortuga Island. From Los Suenos it is forty-five minutes, and the boat is yours.

Board at half past eight with coffee and a light breakfast waiting. The catamaran runs west across the Gulf of Nicoya while the water is still flat. Your chairs and umbrellas are set up before you land. Snorkelling goes first, then the banana boat, then buffet lunch on the island: grilled chicken, rice with vegetables, sauteed potatoes and two salads, with Jungle Juice and margaritas. The afternoon is open, with the island nature trail and the beach.

This is the charter we recommend for groups of up to forty: family reunions, corporate days out, wedding parties and any celebration where you want the whole boat and a full day rather than a two-hour cruise.

Cancellation Policy

A 50% deposit confirms the charter and is non-refundable
The remaining balance is due one week before the tour
Rescheduling requires written notice one week before the original date and is subject to availability
All payments are non-refundable in the case of a no-show
If the tour cannot run because of government regulation, or because the captain judges the weather unsafe, we reschedule first. If no alternative date is possible, you receive a 100% refund

Tour Itinerary

Departure and Breakfast, 8:45 AM Coffee, fresh fruit and a light breakfast as you cross the Gulf of Nicoya. Flat morning water, about 45 minutes to the Nicoya Peninsula

Arrival at Tortuga Island Chairs and umbrellas already set up on the sand for your group

Snorkelling, Banana Boat and Buffet Lunch Mask, snorkel, fins and vest provided, then life jackets on for the banana boat (expect to end up in the water). Lunch ashore is grilled chicken, rice with vegetables, sauteed potatoes and two salads, with Jungle Juice and margaritas

Nature Hike, Beach Time and the Ride Home Walk the island trail looking for monkeys and iguanas, or stay on the sand. Drinks on the crossing back, returning at 4:45 PM
