About This Tour
Twenty five minutes off the San Juan Bay Marina you are in Blue Marlin Alley, 6,000 foot deep water along the Atlantic shelf, just 1.5 to 5 miles offshore. More than 30 fishing world records have been set in these waters. The boat is a 48ft Hatteras rigged for big-game sport fishing: top-of-the-line reels, fighting chairs, outrigger setup and a full tackle inventory.
Seasons run year-round but the species rotate. Blue marlin peak May through September. White marlin show April through July. Mahi mahi and dorado run October through April. Yellowfin tuna are available year-round. Sailfish run September through March, and wahoo September through January. The captain and mate read the conditions and pick the technique, whether trolling, deep-drop or kite fishing, based on what is running.
Up to 6 anglers per charter, with four, six and eight hour options. Bring your own lunch and snacks (cans of beer if you like, no glass). The crew handles every rig, bait and fight. Fish cleaning is available at the dock if you keep your catch. This is a USCG certified family operation that has run fishing charters out of San Juan since 1975, three generations of captains, with the tournament record to prove it.
