Want Bahia de las Aguilas without chartering a whole boat? This shared catamaran sells per-person seats, so couples, solo travellers and small groups can sail to the Dominican Republic's most beautiful beach for a fraction of a private charter.

From the dock at Carretera de los Pescadores, five minutes from the cruise pier, the catamaran heads along the quiet southwest coast, stops over a living reef for snorkelling, and anchors off Bahia de las Aguilas: eight kilometres of protected, empty white sand inside Jaragua National Park. Open bar on board, gear included, bilingual crew throughout.

There was so much space on the boat to lounge, relax and put our stuff away. We had a whole day excursion and went to the a shallow pool and Saona Island.
