You sail from Bayahibe on a private 47-foot power catamaran just your group and the crew. First stop is the natural pool, a waist-deep sandbank scattered with starfish and lit up turquoise. From there it is on to Costa Romántica, one of Saona Island's white-sand beaches inside Cotubanamá National Park, where lunch is served and the open bar keeps the beer, rum and soda coming. Palms, warm shallow water and room to actually breathe no buffet lines, no packed boat.

There was so much space on the boat to lounge, relax and put our stuff away. We had a whole day excursion and went to the a shallow pool and Saona Island.
